The world's best trophies for the World's Best Work℠ has a video projector embedded in its base with unlimited credits and a video of the award winning work.
New York Festivals World’s Best Advertising℠ new revolutionary trophies have taken the advertising industry by storm! The six newly crafted trophies, inspired by New York’s classic Art Deco skyscrapers come in five sizes ranging from 8 to 14 inches (203 to 355 mm) in height and in six different colors. Best of Show, Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize and Finalists, yes Finalist awards (no more paper certificates) are cast in resin and powder coated in six different monochromatic colors. The variety of sizes and color variances will allow award-winners to create their own multidimensional version of the New York City skyline in their trophy case.
Jessica Walsh of Sagmeister & Walsh had this to say about the inspiration for the new trophy, “The new design for the New York Festivals trophies takes on a form inspired by Art Deco architecture, but contemporary in nature. Our goal was to create a beautiful yet unassuming form that would be displayed on the winner’s shelves. Over time as people collect their trophies they will create an abstract version of a New York City skyline. Additionally, there is a micro video projector embedded in the bottom of the trophy, so when the winner lifts their trophy up, the award winning work preceded by a crawl title will project an unlimited number of credits involved in the creation of the work. No more glued on name plates with only room for 5 lines.”
“We created a trophy that we would love to receive ourselves,” added Stefan Sagmeister, “something that feels good when you lift it up, something that looks good as a grouping when you earn a few of them, and something that displays the winner's names in a new and innovative way—we've always hated the little glued on metal name plates.”
New York Festivals® dynamic new trophy has immediately become a revered symbol of creative achievement that will pay tribute to the most celebrated advertising campaigns and their creators from around the globe, and continues New York Festivals tradition, innovation, and 58-year commitment to honoring creative excellence and the World’s Best Advertising®.
“What’s conceptually brilliant about this trophy is that a single one represents a successful campaign,” said Michael O’Rourke, President, New York Festivals, “a collection of trophies in different sizes and colors represents a consistently strong body of work created by the agency.”
You can see these iconic trophies at the The 2015 New York Show℠ events will be on May 21st and feature creative panel sessions, a cocktail reception, the awards ceremony, and an after-party. New York Festivals will welcome award winners, jury members and guests from around the globe to this day long series of events honoring the World’s Best Advertising. Four creative panel sessions will take place during the day at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, located at 1871 Broadway (at 61st Street).
Later that evening, guests from around the world will then join us for our Gala event at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City, for a cocktail reception in the Ertegun Atrium, followed by the awards ceremony in Rose Theater. A celebratory after-party will be held at Stone Rose Lounge, on the 4th floor of Time Warner Center, to toast all the winners of the World’s Best Advertising.
